adopt an earring

I finished this piece after visiting a friend’s grandma. She’s in the last stages of cancer and juz seeing her all rags and bones made me cry.

I remembered the last days of Mom, when she is also lying in bed, fragile like a child.

I remembered how my childhood was tainted by a person’s folly.

I realised people don’t make five stones anymore since we have Nintendo.  

And how I never got to sit in a carousel when I was small cos…we simply cldn’t afford the luxury. 

So, I told myself, when I’ve got kids, I’d at least bring him/her to the carousel.

The carousel is made of black wire. Totally handmade. Wired in a vintage gold carousel horse. Took me quite alot of time and patience. Thus, take care of her girls. She is my pride Note: Slightly weighty

Aki means autumn in Japanese. Set of 3 earrings. Check out the flower stud! My personal fav. Very oriental~
