Internet security

I was explaining internet banking to my friend today (she’s a self-proclaimed computer idiot, haha~~ ) and if you do online transactions, here’s some security news if you don’t already know: There’s a new clever Trojan called SilentBanker that intercepts your banking account. Singapore banks haven’t received any hits, but juz be careful.

Here’s an article for your reading.

Do always:

1. Update your computer with the latest anti-virus software, do regular scannings.

2. Clear your browser’s cache/history after logging off your ibank account, especially if you are using a public computer (you shldn’t be doing that in the first place, heh). Here’s how to clear your cache.

If you notice any unauthorised transactions in your account, notify your bank immediately. A personal tip: Internet Explorer, due to it’s popularity, is more prone to hackers/attacks. U may want to download another browser to ensure better security. For me, I use Firefox. U can download Firefox for Free.

You might have noted I ask for your transaction ref number regularly cos in case (touchwood) anything happens, you can track back the transaction easily.

Spring is here!

Do u know Today is actually the First day of Spring according to Farmer’s Calendar? But to accomodate the lunar calendar, we only celebrate 初一 on Thurs.

Anyhow, here’s to a prosperous 2008 for all AAE parents! *Cheers!*

Some quick updates… I’ve finished the bulk of remakes (they say cannot “欠过年”, else u will be in debt for the whole year, haha) only 5 left, and of cos, the clay pendants customisations will come after the 3 days break. So far, I’m working on Claudia, Sam, Susu & Weiling’s. If you want clay pendants customisations (have ur photo transferred onto clay), do leave me a comment here and then mail me the photo ok?

U may have also noticed some changes in Archive. I’ve transferred 4-5 mths past collections into Flickr, a 3rd party photo album. U can click on “Archives” category, go into “All Images” and browse thru the collections instead of clicking page by page. For those that are more probable for remakes, I let them remain in the main parent page. Let me know whether the pathway is clear enough ok

Also some personal updates…

Remember I told u how I’m saving up for a sewing machine? (I’m quite surprised people actually read “About Crafter” page, hahaha…) I was talking to a customer on Sat and she reminded me of my wish. So on Sunday, I went to check out the sewing machine I was eyeing for the past few mths again and finally…

Yes, I brought her home. Feb’s allowance gone~ must go visiting vigorously to earn my angbaos… Hahaha~~

Also learning swimming (to overcome the barrier in my heart. During my sec school days, swimming lessons are compulsory & torturous. I failed the tests 2 times. I hope to face and conquer this fear again)

Lastly, I’ve been working on a customisation for Lou, and quite proud of it. It’s a new attempt for me, so here’s a peek:

I hand drew the mini paw print and dog head with black acrylic paint, lacquer to prevent ink smudge, added silver rhinestones for a little bling effect. And black lace to soften and achieve a more mature look. The most impt feature is that these are all very minute details… cos the the chalk white bead is only 1cm tall. U can use your ruler to see how small it is! Let me know your thoughts on this baby!

And of cos, once again, Gong Xi Fa Cai !!!

Hahaha~ In the end I got 2 letters of receipt, cos remembered I told u how I thought the donation didn’t go thru bcos of my stupid computer’s pop-up blocker? Yeah, it’s $132 X 2 to SCS~

If U braved the sun

juz to come down today, U R THE GREATEST-TEST! EVER! Thanks! Maria was the first to arrive, and she took the piece I worked on the longest~ haha~~ DH was the 2nd with her fren, luckily they came prepared with the umbrella.

The sun was scorching hot today! But woohoo~! These ladies braved it thru anyway! Plus Rosel & fren, Tracy & fren, Cheryl & bf, Shafina (newbie!), BL (thanks for the energy bars! Ha!) & last but not least, Xen & hubby (ya la, know u busy :p) ~

The weather was juz unpredictable, it was peeling hot in the day, then sometime ard 4pm, it started to rain~ so basically I was bearing the sun AND the rain today~ feeling slightly oozy now~ Hahaha~ Juz a peek of what they brought home…

I also went ard swapping items with other vendors… swapped a blouse for some candies n a tee~ heh! Gave me an idea for the swapnsell yahoo group~

Rewarded myself with a treat after the flea ~ FAMOUS AMOS cookies!

If you didn’t manage to make it, don’t worry, there’s another bazaar in Mar, after the CNY, juz a hint… this time, it’s some place artsy and under the shade

Almost all the items were snapped up the very first day! My guy & I were SHOCKED at the speed they went & I was particularly delighted/touched so many online parents came down to support! He commented it looks juz like an AAE xmas gathering~ Ha~ & Ranna, your hubby is juz a hell of a joker! Wahahaha~~ I hope you like your free gifts!!!

I had to scramble back home at 1am and create new stuff for the 2nd day, only slept at 630am~ so if u saw me on the 2nd day and I looked tired, that is bcos I AM.

Here’s the result of an entire sleepless nite of jewelry making~

I saw some old/new faces~ met old contacts, made new frens… It’s funny how some of us only had contact via email but when we meet, it seems juz like a normal fren gathering~ After the frenzy ended at 1am today, I’m still feeling slightly dazed~ hahaha~~
